It was Ianto's birthday yesterday. ask_aboutcoffee  had a bit of a mishap involving a stray bullet which might have been meant for... everyone who unfortunately surprised him without notice on the big day. (Note to self: He does not like screaming/confetti cannons. He likes to be in on plans. Does this shock you? Yeah, no.)

TODAY is James Marsters' birthday and fans are celebrating the news that he'll have a "significant story arc" on upcoming BSG prequel series Caprica.  I'ma have to watch that now. Frankly, I was planning on it anyway, since Jane Espenson of BtVS fame is writing and William B. Davis -  The Cigarette Smoking Man from the X-Files(!) is to play the Minister of Defense. Plus, Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales and Cylons? WIN ALL AROUND, REALLY.

 

James will be portraying a lethal, dangerous and unpredictable terrorist leader. Right, he's typecast. I don't care. Why do you think I watched Torchwood for the first time?

Caprica is a stand-alone series, but if you like BSG, you probably know dashakay's fic. If you were ever in X-Files fandom, you definitely do. You can find it at secretprobation 

I'm pretty sure Caprica is not going to disappoint me even though Dollhouse did.

To add, the Torchwood/Doctor Who Porn Battle will be hosted at Nick's cyus fic journal this weekend. Bring your A game.  :D

The first season, composed of the two-hour pilot and 18 one-hour episodes, is expected to begin airing on Syfy in the United States on January 22, 2010. The rights to broadcast the series have also been picked up by Sky1 in the UK and Ireland and Space in Canada.

I read that he was going to be in Caprica on a Torchwood forum. He's great at playing the lethal dangerous unpredictable villain. Loved him as Captain John Hart.

Caprica looks like a veritable Rift-explosion of poly-fandom squee. Can't wait.

Ianto's surprise party was great; the fen need more glitter in these difficult times. Even if he likes to know what's coming before he does, it all worked out well, don't you think? I loved that he wrote Jack a reminder memo in space sharpie.

I felt bad about Gwen not getting her own party, though. Tried to make it up to you with a shout-out in the comments.

I think I used up my A-game this week (with your help), but I'll try to play through, if Nick will pass the cute!fic ball. :)
