Nick finally posted his final [livejournal.com profile] writerinadrawer fic and it's so goooooood.  Read it, you should.  (That was done in my Yoda voice. No, really.)

Title: Something Beautiful
Characters: Gwen Cooper, Jack Harkness
Rating: PG
Length: 4,500 words
Summary: After Torchwood, after Jack, Gwen lives her life, even as Jack comes back.

Big encouragement to all of you who signed up for NaNoWriMo. I'm not sure how you do it.  I don't have a novel in me, pals. My creative mind is like a junk drawer. Open it up and you'll find pens and rubber bands and batteries and an iPod cord and some purple envelopes. These do not make one big cohesive thing when you put them together.

Did sign up for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide , though.

So many people on my f-list are bummed, hiding from H1N1, stuck with flat beer, being bothered on bus benches or have puppies with fevers.  I want to make great big cheer bubbles with one of those giant wands, blow them all over with a fan and clap with glee as they pop on each of you with a big soapy *gwink!*

Since that's just bizarre, here's something even weirder: If I were going to start a striptease career, I'd do it to this Lou Reed Song. In fact, I'd only strip to Lou Reed songs.

Oh... NaNoWriMo sounds awesome.
If I had a less busy life, and had known about that beforehand, I might've tried.
I am trying to write a novel since I was 12 (that was my first try then... lol, I lost interest after 100 pages). The last serious try got to a little more than 300 pages, but I hadn't even told half of what I had intendet to tell and then lost interest.
That's why, even in ffs, I mostly try to write one-shots; I can't focus on a story arc long enough without being distracted by another idea.
And in my newer attempts... I mostly stopped after creating the concept. This would've been some kind of encouragement to try and get through with it. But yeah, maybe next year... or the next... or the next...

300 pages is great!

You're supposed to just... write, but I'd need to do outlines and things.

I'm a one-shot person, too. :)

300 sounds awesome, but it wasn't so much. And as I said I just lost interest in it, because I'm hardly focused enough.
That's why I'm writing one-shots or fics that are losely connected but could also be read as stand alones.

I don't have a problem with just writing. That's how I do it, I just sit down and write the stuff that's been in my head. If I do the outlines or character sketches I just do them for fun, I don't need it. I've got all the ideas for whatever I ever wanted to write stored in my head and who knows maybe one day I'll feel like continuing at page 301 :).

I wish I could write original fic, but the only thing I seem to be able to do is fanfic.

Which is cool... I like fanfic!

:D
