There are Torchwood-y things to read!

Novel:
63,000 words
[personal profile] amand_r has posted We held gold dust in our hands. This is a story she's described as her "poly curtainfic", but it's much, much more than that. It's primarily Jack/Ianto/Lisa, but there's more, and everyone's in it, along with the Doctor and it's an AU, but... Jesus, just read it. It's amazing. It's domestic polyamory, and we never, ever see that.  amand_r says it's the best thing she's ever written, but if you read her stuff, that's like the Beatles telling you "this is our best song".

Adventure Story: 7,750 words
My buddy [livejournal.com profile] gypsylady created an original RP character in Askverse, T the Time Agent. Of All The Gin Joints features T in a CoE fixit fic, but it's not parody/crack -- the other characters are the canon Torchwood crew.  I have a soft spot for Time Agency OCs, because we all want to know know what Jack (and John) used to be like, and T knew-them-when.  Canon pairings + T(Tessa)/Andy

[livejournal.com profile] cookiesofkarma is getting her writing mojo back (yays!) and explores Tosh's feelings for Owen in Unrequited.  I really love what she's done with the imagery here. Angsty!

I spent $18 on candy yesterday  to hand out to trick-or-treaters and it was gone by 8:15.  Less than an hour and a half. The last load was 20 kids. AT ONCE. Getting cleaned out early is probably a good thing, because I was starting to dip into the sour gummy worms and Butterfingers...

We didn't get them at our old place, but this 'hood has loads of kids around.

I love seeing them in costume, actually. 4-year-old Iron Man!

I love [livejournal.com profile] gypsylady's fic. Fixit but with Ask!Verse? YES! :D

Luckily, Hallowe'en's not such a big thing in England as it is in America. Plus I was out all night so I didn't have to tell small children I had no sweets for them. :D

Thanks for the rec. :D

I know... it's really more fun when you're little, but I didn't get to go to a party and dress up or anything.

Figures, since any costume would have been really last-minute. :D

That's a lotta stuff to squee over, there! And nice that you gave us offerings in pocket, standard and jumbo economy fic-packages! (Strictly a reflection on size, not quality. But am happy to see it all go up.)

I was a meanie for Halloween (dressed in standard-issue imitation Morticia kit), and only handed out sugarless candy. Much of it left over, alas, since rain showers kept the t&ters away. So much for defeating the vampiric purveyors of high fructose corn syrup, and trying to keep the kiddie-zombie population down. :P

But you tried! I should not be surprised HFCS has invaded candyland too. I just don't get it--no, I do actually, cuz I read up on the whole evil scheme.

I was a meanie and kept my light off and watched the telly.

Morticia! I do have a witch hat somewhere for random Halloween (and other random hats) but I just didn't bother.

One year we did granola bars, but sort of... because we ran out of candy. I figure kids need one holiday a year to gorge themselves on junk. Well, besides Christmas and Easter and...

Yes, all sizes of fic this weekend!
