[info]cyus  (aka [livejournal.com profile] cruentum ) has posted his [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest story, Prince of the Apple Towns, in which he vividly envisions Ianto's past during the go-go dot-com era.  While working in a gay café , the tailor's son seeks to redefine himself far away from home in an atmosphere of casual work, casual sex and casual lies:

Last night's shag had asked for his number, accent and blond hair and screaming God in Swedish or Norwegian, and Ianto had fumbled out digits with a sleight of hand and a winning grin, a nod and the promise of another night, but the number wouldn't work, had never been his.

(As I have promised, everything I beta-read now gets lipstick kisses. It's like the mark of Zorro, without the jabby sword. *Mwah!*)
MWAH

As if you need another reminder, the Comment Porn Battle is coming this weekend. Rule clarification: no RPF/RPS. It's already multifandom, though mostly Torchwood and Doctor Who-related, so we don't want to lose the original focus of this thang.

In other news, the sound driver in my laptop has apparently died. I'm a YouTube addict enthusiast so this is kinda tragic unfortunate.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] spoggly  has a DEBBIE HARRY PICSPAM up.   Awesome.  *flails*  *licks screen* *adjusts icon*

Yay!! Fortune cookie erotic fail FTW!

Nick's story is fabulous, and, um, I'm looking forward to a few lipstick traces of my own. :) Everything's beta with a little fox.

"Anything you can do, I can do beta, I can do anything beta than you..."

Also, new icon, om nom nom.

Oh, you'll get my traces.

I used to save my fortune cookies and break them apart over ice cream. I love almond-flavored things.

Shit, I should have made you write my summary to have that instead of the lame-ass version I came up with.

Lol, I'm appreciating the lipstick kisses, and thanks for the rec, and again, your beta reading expertise, much appreciated.

Look, you even get sexy Krycek in return.

So sorry about your sound thingy! I would be very distressed w/out mine, as well. Hopefully the promise of porn will help get you by.

I am looking forward to reading crue's fic! Am watching "Lost" now...and a very trippy commercial.

Thanks... I fixed it! Downloaded a driver update. Whew!

Mr Fox is watching some documentary about Stalin, which sounds interesting. *Wanders over with honkin' wineglass...*

...and he's asleep. He worked an 11-hour day. :(

Rule clarification check - fictional versions of people are ok, though? Like a Jack/Cole Porter bit based on De-Lovely or Reinette or Dickens from Who? Or Andy Warhol played by David Bowie or Guy Pearce rather than Andy himself? Or is that being too hair-splitty on the divide of Real Person vs Fictional Representation Of Real Person in Andy's case?

Also, rather inappropriately given the above, but the picspam and your icon have reawakened my desire to write Debbie Harry/Nico fic. *ponders for [livejournal.com profile] mmom

Hmm, hadn't thought about that. With the Whoniverse and time travel, obviously characters meet "fictional real people" in canon anyway, like Shakespeare.

We're basically trying to get away from cast member fic (since there are already RPF/RPS comms for that). If the Doctor or Jack is present in an earlier era and gets busy with someone long dead, I don't think that's really RPF/S.

Living actors would be, though.

Hopefully Ciaran will weigh in. :)

Hi, joanne! We're tightening up our rules a bit, trying to make sure these battles don't get out of hand. So, all the fic have to be in Torchwood or Doctor Who universes. Fictional characters (Reinette, Dickens) are okay. A historical with retro!Jack and Cole Porter would be okay too, as long as it's about Jack and Cole, not John and Kevin.

Just make sure it's not real person, and that it has at least one foot in Torchwood/Doctor Who. Cool?

Also? LOVE your icon. :)

To clarify the all the fic have to be in Torchwood or Doctor Who universes, does that mean it's not multifandom anymore? Or did you only mean in regards to characters Barrowman or whoever's played..?

Crossovers are fine!! As long as one of the fandoms is DW or TW. We're just trying to keep it focused. Cool?

It's multifandom, but we're trying to keep some connection to the Whoniverse.

Crossovers are totally cool!

(Everything to date has been like this anyway, so Krycek/anybody in the Whoniverse is cool. The Doctor/Buffy is cool, etc...)

If it's tied to the Torchwood SUV, it's cool. That's a character! :D

So if I suddenly wanted to write a Mulder/Scully I wouldn't be allowed to? Oh shame. Sorry Mac, no Mulder/Scully for you then.

Lol, I'm kidding. I mean- you know what I mean.
