You know, I never really got into Angel/Buffy (unrepentant Spike/Buffy shipper here) but Spike/Angel? Hellllllo, dolly!

I agree. Spuffy's hot but Bangel sucks."Spangel" was my very first foray into slash. Never really thought about it until I read a spangel fic and I was quivering like, "Oh damn, that's just insanely hot on a whole other level..." I've always been gay-friendly but never thought about guy on guy being super hot until I read that. I wrote one Spangel fic but lost half of it in a Word document save mishap. It's ok, it wasn't very good anyway.

I'm relatively convinced by it - the body's a good choice if it's a fake. Nipples, build, the whole deal. What throws me is the necklace (doesn't seem very JB) and the tattoo (though that could be temporary, I suppose). And I've zoomed in, can't really tell where a join is, so they've done a good job if it is fake. But the man's not modest, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's legit.

See, I didn't even compare nipples until corresponding with some JB body experts last night.

I did not go looking for the JB photo. And it's extremely silly.

The nice thing with the vampire-as-slut trope is that you can ship just about anyone and get away with it. I have a soft spot for Spike/Xander, myself. And Angel/Wesley. Mmmm, Wesley. *lick*

One of my best friends (from school days) is a Spike/Xander maniac. She has an external hard drive packed full of fic... just in case they take away one of her beloved archives.

I only like that pairing if Xander is eye-patched and a tad tough.

Re: The pic. That's why I didn't link to it. (But the stories about John Barrowman randomly flashing people never fail to amuse me... even though I used to work with someone like that and it was only amusing 40% of the time - not, for example, at restaurants. Time and a place, bro.)

Am I the only person who likes Buffy/Angel? I really, really didn't like Spuffy when the show aired, but on my recent rewatch, it didn't bother me nearly as much as I remembered. I just didn't like how being in love with Buffy turned Spike into a pussy for... pretty much all of season five. Beginning of season six. It got better there at the end. They found the right balance of badass and nice guy.

You know, maybe it's because I was never really in the fandom, but I never did much slashing with Buffy. I definitely see where Spike/Angel is fabulous. I do loves me some preseries Giles/Ethan. Spike/Xander, though? Don't see it. At all. Does nothing for me.

Xander/Oz = magic

Giles pairings, set during the series, always squicked me, but post-S7 it kinda worked, in some pieces.

I just don't see it with Xander. This is proof that I can't slash everything. Sometimes it seems like I do, but... no. Not Xander. I really don't see it.

Mmmm, I love Giles ships. A couple years ago, someone wrote this fantastic, epic Lupin/Giles crossover piece that was amazing. But I really only like the idea of "adult" ships for him (het or slash), though the episode where they lost their memories and Giles and Anya thought they were engaged, I kinda got into that.

A lot of people think the Buffy relationship turned Spike into a pussy. I think being chipped is to blame, but I love some redemption. And some fic set earlier when Spike is definitely more badass.

Well, like I said, he got better as the series progressed. I think they figured out a good balance for him. And I still blame Buffy for his pussification, cause he was at least trying to still be badass in season four post chipping. Then it was all "I'm in love with Buffy, I'm going to be good!" and he got all watered down.

Before I wrote the Ianto/Faith story, I watched some of those season seven Faith episodes, and in the episode where she comes back, the conversation between her and Spike in the basement? They're smoking, and he's shirtless, and oh my god, how sexy was that? I might have watched the scene like three times.

I get what you're saying - about the watered-down Spike.

And that scene with Faith? OMG FLAIL.

Ahhhh, Spike/Angel. The first slashfic I ever read. And it was wrong, oh yes. Dirtywrong sire!fic with extra bloodplay, blood as lube, hate!sex and all sorts of filth.

I'm not really much for the het ships generally, but I remember finding Spuffy insanely hot when the show first aired. But with the benefit of hindsight I could totally get into Bad!Spike/Evil!Willow...
