I just tried to explain to my 72-year-old Mom why it's so side-splittingly hilarious that someone on the internet created a community for people to write stories based in a television scifi show's universe to explain why a real-life tv show prop ended up in a pond in Hampshire.

Oh hell, she already knows all about slash and fanfic, I've been talking to her about it for years. She was a bit confused by my Snarry phase, but with Torchwood, she just pats me on the head and lets me rave. The Moms is cool. *grins*
