Do they have a point? I was going to do a poll, but LJ is being very naughty about polls.

What are your thoughts? Should fic writers mention foreskins more often (for characters who are likely to be uncut?)  Do you not need or want this detail? Do you assume they're there anyway, depending on how you imagine the characters and who they are? Is this something you've never really considered, either way?

I forget what the stats are, but there was a huge swath of time where most American boys were circumcised as a matter of course. Jewish, not Jewish, etc.

The first guy I remember for certain being uncut (again, lolhor) was born in '68, before they did it to everyone.

Yeah, they leave it up to the parents now, but even if they didn't all the guys my age that I've, uhrm, "dallied" with have been cut. That was a big debate for me and the husband, but ha ha! I had a girl! TAKE THAT, CIRCUMCISION DEBATE!
