Dragon*Con Vintage Sunday

: D  Observe [livejournal.com profile] redstapler's amazing Dragon*Con costume:

YES. Her expression is part of the mood-setting. SHE IS NOT PUTTING UP WITH YOUR RUBBISH, HARKNESS.   TIME FOR THE CLAMPS.

Off to another Gareth panel!

Oh, LOL NO. I missed the CoE panel. I'm looking at Saturday.  *rolleyes*

This is excellent. Now I can go and get some waffles again. WAFFLES.

JACK GOT HIS TIE-KINK FROM BEING STRANGLED BY ALICE WITH ONE, Y/Y?

I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY ALICE INTRODUCED HIM TO MAY AWESOME THINGS. AND BY AWESOME, I MEAN 'SHIT THAT WILL GET YOU OFF BUT KILL YOU IF YOU WERE A NORMAL PERSON.

There's not canon to back me up, and it's cliche, but I still think they were kinkyboots a few times, at least.

'He's pretty. But you're prettier,' totes means, 'I'm gonna do him but you get to watch.'

No I think that means, "Get your strap on, sweetheart, we're going out to eat. For a Jack sandwich."

I stand corrected. They totally would have had a leather strap-on ala Tipping the Velvet. (Sarah Waters FTMFW!)

I was thinking of those nice glass ones. But leather works too. God I love Tipping the Velvet.

Read the book? The book is 10x more awesome than the miniseries.

The adaptation of Fingersmith probably only comes second in faithfulness/authenticity to the source material to Gods and Monsters/Father of Frankenstein (a truly gorgeous film/book). Fucking beautiful.

I must get copies of the rest of Waters' novels. I haven't read Affinity, The Night Watch or The Little Stranger.

Father of Frankenstein is by Christopher Bram, and the film Gods and Monsters has Ian McKellen and Brendon Fraser.

Read Waters; you really won't regret it. It's like Dickens with a side helping of soft-core lesbian pornography. Yum.
