[Error: unknown template qotd] In the middle of our street, with two cats in the yard. Life used to be so hard.  Uhm... this is not my beautiful house. (But it would have tall windows like these to let in lots of light.)  It would be romantic but not cluttered, and very airy. I'd have loads of bookcases and a balcony for having breakfast.

Just kidding. :D

Aaaaand it'd be on the Amalfi Coast. (I know, the flat looks Parisian. This is a fantasy, yes?)

Ten Romantic Comedies with Killer Interiors from Casa Sugar

I also like Mel Gibson's apartment in What Women Want, which is completely different but utterly cool Unfortunately, I can't find any shots of it.

YES I CAN. Google, I OWN YOU.   Silver Screen Surroundings Blog

How about you?  Any interiors in films (or elsewhere) you covet just a bit?

I was going to say and it's on the coast right? Mine too...

Ah, I'm not so picky about where it is, as long as it's nice inside and there's a bookshop nearby!

If you don't want to keep the greyhound I'll have it.

I'd love to have a bedroom like that - only there's no way I could put the bed there...

Right on the coast only works places there are no things like winter storms and local fishermen :D

Oh, puppy! I know... so cute. They're wonderful dogs, greyhounds. I'd have a rescue dog if I didn't already have pets.

What's wrong with the bed being where it is? :) I think I'd rather have that a "chill-out chaise longue" than a bed, though.

In my fantasyland, the weather is always placid on the coast and no seagulls are soiling the balcony. :D

I am really weird about where I sleep in relation to other things - that bed/window combination just wouldn't work for me...

I can see that. I do have to have a window to the side or in front of me; I can't sleep with one behind the bed. Or with my back to the door.

The bed I have now is pretty big and the bedroom really isn't, so it will only fit in two spots in the room, and one of them is the door wall, so that's not happening.

Not that I want to move it anyway... it's IRON. :D

I want to live in Angel's awesome digs in Season three. It is on a cliff, it is art nouveauesque, and has that incredible night garden he made for Drusilla.

Must have it now!!!

Oh hell, yes.

I liked Wolfram and Hart's headquarters, too. Most of the offices where I've worked have been crappy. Love the art/sculpture on the wall behind Angel's desk.

There's a shop which had something similar. Gurrr, can't remember it.

Oh... well, not close, really. But this is sort of awesome:

I think that looks a lot like it--at least as I recall it.

I would like to work in the Hub or the Tardis. With all the cool tech in it.

THIS! Plus, the TARDIS apparently has magical rooms. It makes me think of the Holodeck. FUCK, I WANT A HOLODECK!

You've seen the trailers for TW S3, right? And what happens with the Hub?

Yeah... that's pretty much it.

I'll be bummed to see it go, if it goes. I love the Hub!

Okay, I've always had a thing for the Eames Case Study House, even if I don't know if I could actually live there:

-- just because I think it would be totes cool to be able to configure the window/wall shades exactly how you want.

But LA? Nah. Coast it is. Or Alps.

Yeah, you know I love the Alps too. :D

The house looks great. And BRIGHT! And airy!

The only thing I don't like about some modern/mid-century modern interiors is that they're so stark that my keys on the counter would look like an unintentional mess. I like a little decorative clutter, I admit. :)

And some old things. Though I guess the Eames house isn't an architectural spring chicken at this point.

Eames chair? The classic? Yes, please. Laptop swing-arm thing? I'd never get up!

There are some great shots from when the house was first built, showing it in a comfortable state of clutter. Because yeah, working designers, house as studio, etc. Ray Eames was a goddess.

I have to admit, of course, that the mind also strays to the kinky possibilities those windows and their multi-tasking louvres would afford. (But then, when does it not? Stray, that is.)

Oh, you're naughty. I bet you loved Owen's flat. With the UP 'GAINST THE WINDA' sexins.
