I do tend to think that a lot of the refusal to write Jack/Gwen is masked by the excuse that "Gwen is married, and Rhys is so awesome!" If Ianto was married and his wife was awesome, I bet there'd still be "Janto." ;)

Rhys is pretty awesome, though. I do feel sort of bad for him when I write Gwen/Other.

And yes on Gwen's traits. Though it might have been different if Suzie had remained on the team, since she apparently didn't have a partner.
