...basically just talking to myself
Arggh! Am stuck in the middle of a fic. I have the structure, the ending, the smut, the plot, etc... This is the John/Gwen part II.
I just can't believe she'd do it. The motivation is killing me. Even for a smutbiscuit, you've got to believe that somebody would.
I realize that ill-advised sexual decisionmaking is why alcohol alien sex gas was developed (by writers, not aliens. As far as we know) in the first place, but there will be no alien sex gas in this story.
Is "I was really turned on?" enough of a reason to mess around with someone who tried to kill you? That only (barely) worked in Part I.
Gwen knew this about herself: Love was love but sex was sex and something inside her got off on a little bit of danger and a lot of incompatibility.
'Cause... Owen. Smooching her in a morgue drawer? Y/N? Hard to say. I hate doing mean stuff to Rhys.
ETA: sound file!

First of all, try not to think 'she wouldn't. Find a way to work your mind around 'she would'. Possibilities:
- she's feeling self-destructive or self-punishing
- she has a fetish for red jackets
- she's desperate to prove something (liberation? courage?)
- she thinks she can change him
- he finds a really, really manipulative angle that words
...I could probably come up with more ideas. Just play with it.
Heck, I just gave myself an idea for a Gwen/John story, and I wasn't looking for one!

Now you've got my brain cooking for when I get home and can focus on it. I ship everyone with everyone, but don't want to go into total OOC-land with her.
And I want to read yours. Please do it!

You mean it worked? - I ask hopefully. Yay!
(I'm up to 2,500 words already... not dropping this potato.)
Write on, MacDuff.

Good, good, good! [ <-- Barrowman-like using words in threes.]
ship everyone with everyone
So do I. In fact I was thinking of that as a self-imposed challenge - writing everyone on the Torchwood team with everyone else (in pairs, I mean, though the threesomes are fun too, and I'm already working on them, and as for the full-scale orgies, well... working on it without having found the key yet. Yet. I hope to.)
I can only think of one Torchwood pairing I don't want to do - no, two. Which is okay. I can skip them. And you know what? When I say "I wouldn't write that" I instantly find myself thinking of a way I might want to do it. So... there.
And I want to read yours. Please do it!
Okay, I say agreeably. Would you beta?

I sent you a story to beta, though? *boggles* I'm getting forgetful with age, so I don't recall.
Threesomes and an orgy? I am so there (reading them, that is)!
Which pairing won't you do, if you don't mind the question.

The pairings I don't want to do are Tosh/Owen (because I hated it as it was done in the show - Toshiko was at her worst in her scenes with Owen), and Gwen/Owen, because I think the show covered it so beautifully, and it just doesn't interest me much to write. (Famous last words, maybe?) I can't think of any other Torchwood pairings I wouldn't want to write. Jack/anyone, John/anyone, Gwen or Tosh/anyone but Owen....

Tosh/Owen... I have one in progress which I've dropped. It will probably end up being gen. The storyline interests me, not that pairing. They're the main characters, however.
Gwen/Owen... I agree though have seen it done well.
I do like unlikely pairings. Jack/Ianto, Jack/Ianto, Jack/Ianto. They are a popular and attractive canon slash couple. I don't despise the pairing, but there's just so much fic about them already. When something else shows up on the TW3 newsletter I'm so HAPPY to run off and read it.
No matter what Gareth David-Lloyd does for the rest of his acting career, he's going to be slashed. (Until he's over the hill, naturally.)

Yeah. They're fun.

That works. I like both characters, especially when Tosh wasn't mooning over Owen.

Jack/Ianto
Il ike Jack/Ianto. But I don't like it quite as much as I want to like it. I read a lot of Jack/Ianto because that's what's out there, and I am mostly unexcited by it. The one great story in a hundred is worth the search, though.

Absolutely!

It isn't as if he's discouraging it.
Inevitable, yes.

No. True. :)
This WIP fic is in shane's hands now for some concrit. Yeah!

Does that mean a first draft is done? Yay! Way to go!

Ah, got it! She's trying to get Jack out of her system and she's sublimating. As for John, Gwen's the closest he can get to Jack so he'll take what he can get.

Need a little less conversation, a little more action, as Elvis said. (If I could just write dialogue I would. I need a fic sidekick to do the
stage directionsaccompanying prose.)
