things!
Hit and run post with some... interrelated things. Sort of.
Grant Morrison's interview at the Onion's AV Club today is great, especially if you write/like transformative works (and Grant just rules anyway). Yes, working on Batman is different than fanfic, and yet...
"These characters come complete with an ancestry, and I guess that’s what fascinates me about them. The notion of the DC Universe itself, which is 75 years deep or whatever, is interesting. It’s a place, but it’s also a sustained story that’s lasted for such a long time and has outlived even its creators. So going in there and getting to play with the inhabitants is quite interesting. And I think the history of them and being able to create new strands for them and new opportunities for them is equally interesting. It’s like a science experiment. "
another link, and I don't remember where on my f-list I saw this, but I've had it open for a while before I had the chance to read it:
Why Does Porn Matter?
It can remind us that, no matter what our sexual thoughts and desires are, chances are someone else is having them, too. It can make us feel more comfortable with our sexuality. It can make us feel like we have permission to explore our sexuality, in fantasy or in the flesh or both.
And on that note. PORN BATTLE. Doctor Who/Torchwood. May 29-30. Themes are: Water, Crossdressing, and Oral Sex.
Bring it!
