Erotica readers and writers...

Following today's fandom!secret on this topic, some questions about... foreskins!

Here's the secret someone posted:

Do they have a point? I was going to do a poll, but LJ is being very naughty about polls.

What are your thoughts? Should fic writers mention foreskins more often (for characters who are likely to be uncut?)  Do you not need or want this detail? Do you assume they're there anyway, depending on how you imagine the characters and who they are? Is this something you've never really considered, either way?

Do you not give a hot damn?

ELVES?  VAMPIRES?  HOBBITS??? I don't even know.

Are you pretty sure Jack Harkness has a fiveskin? Because I am.

ETA: Thank you to my f-list (unlike the F!S thread) for not being judgey about people's parts. Every cock is pretty!

Yeah, I totally agree... that's really offensive. I haven't run across this at all, frankly, though I did exeunt! from the comments at f!s before anyone brought that up, if they did.

By the way, have you written any docking? I know that came up in conversation somewhere. 'Cause I want to read that.

Me? Nope. Most of the time, honestly, I don't even mention them since they're not prominent when most guys are hard. Oddly enough, I vaguely remember that there was a torcwhood fic that involved docking. At least I think so.

There's a bit of fandom controversy around foreskins, due mostly to the dominance of Americans in most fandoms, I guess. And the cleanliness fetish a lot of western culture has going right now, which seems to assume that foreskin=dirty.

I'm really going to have to include foreskins with abortion and the word black to describe an ethnicity as things I really didn't know were such a big deal until I ran into large amounts of Americans willing to speak their minds on the matters.

Oh, international cultural differences... LAND MINES.

Well, land mines are also controversial, actually.

Yeah... guess I'll have to do that too.
Before I started to be more involved in fandom and actually hadn't read anything beyond what was posted in fanfics on fanfiction.net... I didn't even know people actually thought that much about things like that (I think I still don't get whole race!fail. It always seemed rather "unimportant" (I mean it matters, but it's just something that is there or not and shouldn't be a big "to be or not to be" thing to discuss) or rather unproblematic to me.

Okay, while I'm not certain I really want to know the answer, I'll ask anyway: what exactly is docking?

Two men, head to head, so to speak, with the foreskin of one pulled over the other party's.

Supposed to feel pretty awesome!

Interesting concept.

I think I lack the proper visual image in my head... but I'm not certaint I need it :D anyway.

Wikipedia will help. ;)

Oh, man, what would I do without Wikipedia to describe all the interesting concepts I come across online to me? XD

(This NSFW link (http://cockdockers.org/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=viewnews&id=7) has an animated gif, though... ;D)
