Also, it's sad how seldom writers pick up the canon clues that show Tosh taking sexual initiative and very much in charge of her own desires; there's so much emphasis on her being a victim (and sexually manipulated by Mary and Adam). Your Tosh/Rhys fic and this show there are many more layers to her.
I don't know where to start with what I love here. Tosh as erratic metronome, Tosh who needs white noise, Tosh the hidden artist; Tosh who gets caught between partners she can talk to and partners she can get off with. It has always seemed possible to me that Tosh and Ianto could have slept together after Countrycide, and I worship you for this plausible and moving version of that. But having Jack go to Tosh after the wedding -- now that's unexpected and brilliant, and it makes sense. Perfect that she's been dreaming of spiderwebs, and that Jack claims to be checking on her; but it's obviously Jack who needs comfort and absolution here just as much. The Retcon is a chilling and effective touch, one cold finger among the warm ones.
I think your Japanese proverbs have a kind of double edge in the original that they don't in English, and that works, too.
