This was the perfect follow-up to Desk Set; they're both in my memories now. A rollercoaster ride isn't just a good analogy for a first sexual encounter with Jack: their whole relationship, at least from Ianto's POV, has been a succession of wild highs and lows. It bottoms out with Lisa's discovery, gradually creeps uphill from Small Worlds through Countrycide to TKKS, chugs along deceptively until it dives again when Owen shoots Jack, shoots up when Jack revives, nosedives when Abaddon kills Jack, skyrockets to the highest point when Jack kisses him in front of the team, then back almost to the bottom when Jack leaves. And that's just Season 1!
