Very dark and sexy. I like the John/Gwen chemistry in KKBB and there's definitely that hint of John trying to warn Gwen off Jack, although my reading of that is John's jealousy because he sees that Jack is hot for Gwen, even after the kiss/fight scene in the bar.
And of course to me, Jack is just biding his time. He wouldn't mind ruining Gwen for anyone else in the least. But that's MY Jack. Yours may be slightly less of a bastard.
I always enjoy your John characterization. You capture the snark and the sadness extremely well. Just keep your guard up against the tendency to go a little bit Spike. Trust me, I've caught myself doing it more than once and I'm not even a Buffy person.
