I feel like I've been waiting to read this since TKKS! It's as simple and tragically complex as the relationships on screen, and just as heartbreakingly beautiful.
And you make a very good point there too, that 'she has forgotten that she hadn't said it to Jack.' I mean, I know Jack wouldn't remember her 'not like I love you' in Adam, but... oh. Ow.
