I can so see why you went with this ending over the others, and it's a great choice, actually. The touch of Jack feeling off to Ianto that could just be Ianto growing older within that time bubble and changing from the man he used to be or, yknow, something else.
Loved the feel of the story. I know you say,yknow, it's vignettes and all, but I like how interconnected they are, how you keep their conversations sparse and unsentimental, and well, I like that in them Gwen and Ianto stay sane and don't go completely nuts and stay themselves, ultimately.
I do like the choices you made in the story, when, yknow, other people likely would have taken the same scenario into different directions, and it's quite fulfilling indeed.
